Vegas Variety Vol. 3 by Rainbow Records set for release

E-mail Print PDF

Rainbow Records presents as a very interesting audience recording: Las Vegas August 6, 1969, DS. We already had it back in 1991 by the Tiger label. The sound was a bit dull with some cuts here and there. This time we get the complete show in re-mastered sound from a newly discovered tape with no gaps. It`s Elvis live in 1969 !  Be assured that you witness a powerhouse performance from the first days of the "Concert Years" with no weak spot. As always the disc is accompanied by a 20-page booklet with great liner notes and rare cover shots from these days. Highly recommendable ! It`s already in our Concerts On CD - 1969 section.

Audionics announces "At Full Force"

This time we get a soundboard recording from December 28, 1976 in Dallas, TX. We already had it back in 1998 on A Hot Winter Night In Dallas by Fort Baxter. Besides two songs the show is complete. As always Audionics did the best to achieve remarkably improved sound. Not to mention that the disc is accompanied by a full color 16-page booklet with informative liner notes and many pictures around the show. This concert definitely belongs to the best of 1976 with an outstanding version of Unchained Melody. Elvis and band were in high spirits, the crowd cheered cause they witnessed a great show. I`d say an essential release for newbies and a welcome addition to any well assorted collection ! It`s already in our Concerts On CD - 1976 section.

Audionics starts the new year with a bang. We get soundboard recordings from Johnson City, March 17 (previously unreleased) and Charlotte, March 20, 1976. The latter we already had years ago on Running For President. However, the sound will be much improved. As a bonus we get soundboard highlights from spring 1977,with many being previously unreleased. Highlight here should be My Way with spoken lyrics from Abilene March 27, 1977. Of course this double digipack is accompanied by a 16-page booklet with interesting photos and liner notes from these days. All in all a fascinating release and essential for every collection ! It`s already in our Concerts On CD - 1976 section.

Straight Arrow comes back - Here Come The Stars

This time we get December 4, 1976, dinner show. It`s an audience recorded concert in excellent sound quality. Accompanied by a 16-page booklet with informative liner notes by someone who actually attended the show, this release is a must-have for newbies. We already had it way back in 1997 by the Sundial Productions label. Long sold out now, this upgrade should also be a nice addition for the ardent collectors. It`s one of the best shows from this Vegas stand with the highlight being What Now My Love with spoken lyrics. Since Engelbert Humperdinck and Roy Orbison were in the show Elvis h a d to deliver a strong performance as he stated during the show. Thumbs up, Straight Arrow !!!

Rainbow Records strikes again

E-mail Print PDF

Last Stop In Mobile is the title of this audience recording and it features the evening show of June 2, 1977. This concert is definitely the best of this tour and Elvis even included American Trilogy and Unchained Melody. Our man tried hard to please his audience and the result is decent. The sound is good throughout and the show is complete. Thumbs up, Rainbow Records ! It`s already in our Concerts On CD - 1977 section.
