Rainbow Records announces new releases

E-mail Print PDF

Set for release in a couple of days is Never Ending Demand with two Volumes. Vol. 1 features Montgomery, February 16, 1977, ES. Vol. 2 gives us Savannah the following day. This show we had a few years back on Savannah '77. The former is released here for the very first time in complete form. My Way was missing or incomplete on the CDR`s floating around in collectors circles. The sound on both is really fine considering they are audience recordings. This first tour was also the best from this year with Elvis being in a good mood and performing some rarities. Each disc is accompanied by a booklet with informative liner notes and newspaper articles. Recommendable ! They are already in our Concerts On CD - 1977 section.

New studio import Christmas Today

The Venus Productions label showcases a studio release with outtakes from May 1971 Christmas songs (CD 1) and March 1970 "Today" sessions (CD 2). We have a total of about 45 minutes of unreleased material. Until FTD gives us an official  fan release of this material, this 2-CD-set is highly recommendable. For more details please go to our Studio On CD - "C" section. It`s already there.

This time the Kings of audience recordings give us Las Vegas August 31, 1974, DS: Karate Fever.
As usual we get a disc accompanied by a fine 16-page booklet with informative liner notes and great shots. It`ll be due at the end of April. The sound will be decent considering the source. The shows were all of the same pattern with Elvis being very talkative and in a good mood. We have interesting setlists with highlights like Big Boss Man, It`s Midnight, If You Talk In Your Sleep or How Great Though Art, just to mention a few. All in all a nice addition to your collection ! It is already in our Concerts on CD - 1974 section.

Location: Las Vegas, NV. Date: March 31, 1975, MS. Title: Bridge Over Troubled Water.

We had this show already back in 2006 on The Vegas Years Vol.1 (Audiophile) in audience recorded format. The concerts were solid throughout with Elvis being in good spirits. The setlists were very interesting with many highlights. All in all a release that surely is worthwhile for your collection.

We will get a 2-CD-set called Showtime featuring the well known shows from Dallas, December 28, 1976 and Birmingham, December 29, 1976. High time to make these very good shows available for the public !!

Secondly we are looking forward to a show from Lake Tahoe which had never been released before in any form called High Sierra. The date is May 21, 1974, DS. These shows were very strong with Elvis being in great voice and top shape. Also the setlists varied a lot and were very interesting. BRAVO, Ernst !
